Ready for a weekend in one of the beautiful balearic islands? My husband and I spend last october a longer weekend in ibizia / spain. As always, I had a high amount of expectations on this island, but would these also be satisfy?
Everybody read and hears many things from ibiza and for me, it also stands for a long time under the top three bucketlist places. Therefore I also had after my trips to tenerife, barcelona and mallorca a lot of expectations into this little island – too many as you’ll read. I expected cool clubs, party, a stunning landscape, my lovely beautiful turquoise sea and much more. I get no cool clubs, no parties (just in july and august) a moderate landscape and a bit turquoise sea – I was really sad, I thought the scenery would be as amazing as tenerife & mallorca was, but that’s definitely not the case. All in all for a longer weekend, sunshine and a bit relaxing, it’s the right island with a cute old town, but I wouldn’t come back for a second stay.
Now you can read some details about my trip and maybe you’ll find a tip for your next vacation 🙂
As for nearly all my island trips, I rent from/to the airport a car for our four days on ibiza. I think with a car it’s really easy to see as much as you can from a new island in a few days.
Our hotel, the grand palladium hotel ibiza, was located at the sea, just a few kliometres away from eivissa city and also close to the airport. It was a really good outgoing place for our tours and you’re also quickly in ibiza city. The resort was very big, it offers also a spa, a few outdoor pools (unfortunately not heated), a restaurant and some bars. The service was great, the stay was really comfortable there, so we can recommend this hotel to you.
What can you do in ibiza? We drove to sant antoni, it’s at the other side of eivissa – a really cute little town. On our way back we drove through the west coast of ibiza. There you can also find some awesome landscapes, little towns and some magical places. Further we also made a short trip to santa eularia des riu, I like this place a lot, for me it’s even better then eivissa. In santa eularia you can find some little streets with cool modern fashion stores and also a lot of restaurants and bars with local food. Also worth for an excursion is a trip to eivissa town, the old town is really nice with his typical spain touch.
