novigrad – perfect for a weekend

My last travel tip goes to italy and this one is also for one of my favourite countries – croatia. There’re so many beautiful places through the istria coast in croatia. One of them is the little town novigrad, which is also perfect for a weekend trip. The peaceful fishing town becomes in the last years a popular tourists spot. Maybe because of the irresistible charm of a typical quite mediterranean fishing town.

Novigrad or it’s also called cittanova is located in the north of istria, around 15km away from porec and directly at the sea. This city looks back to a large history, it was also in ancient times settled and written documents reach back at the7th century. You can also find the history in the most architectural monuments in the city, for example the parish church of sts. masimus und pelagius was built between the 5th and 6th century and also the free standing bellower built as the same old style.

All in all it’s perfect for a quite relaxing weekend at the sea with the mediterranean style. You can chill at the different beaches, taste the istrian restaurants and the good seafood or watch the sunset at one of the local wine bars. Also perfect of a trip out of the town is a visit at the aquapark or to explore the wine and olive oil routes and taste the different istrian products.

We stayed this weekend at the aminess maestral hotel. It’s a nice hotel, which a perfect view to the sea, food is also very yummy and the rooms are perfect. Definitely my highlight of this trip was the infinity pool – aww I just loved it, especially in the morning is this soo perfect, I absolutely recommend it – it’s worth for a visit.
